COLUMBUS OHIO STAKE
BASIC FOOD STORAGE PLAN 2000
Revised January 2000
BASIC FOOD STORAGE FOCUS
2000 overview
The Regional Bishop's Storehouse is centrally located at 4431 Marketing
Place, Groveport, Ohio. Members can easily obtain many of the basic food
storage products (this service is for members only) through
the storehouse. Bulk pickup can be arranged by individual members or units
of these basic food storage products by calling the storehouse at (614)
836-2627.
Individual members or units can arrange to dry-pack their own bulk items
off-site, or purchase the bulk items to dry pack at the storehouse. (For
bulk items not found at the storehouse check local resources.)
Contact your Ward Food Storage Specialist for more information on reserving the dry pack canner and mylar pouch sealer.
Because the amount of grain recommended for basic food storage is so
high, it has been divided up into three different months to enable better
access and scheduling of dry packing equipment and to enable the storehouse
to adequately obtain these supplies for resale to the saints.
Individual members and units can decide which month they will stress
each individual food storage item listed below. The following chart is
for encouragement, convenience and to assist in individual, family, and
unit participation:

Due to a consolidation of services, the cannery facilities at the Bishop's

The stake has also come up with a recommended weekly plan of action for
the year 2000 to help members fulfill their food storage needs. Each
month, as previously mentioned, is assigned a specific food or category.
Within each month, a weekly plan is given to help achieve the monthly goal
of acquiring a year's supply of the assigned food or category, as well
as various scripture references showing the importance of each food.
The plans are divided up by month, and are located on the following pages:
